MUSCATINE, Iowa — After a lengthy battle with physical illnesses, Marilyn Darlene Randol of Muscatine went to her reward Friday, June 16, 2023, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by family.
As she knew her reward was near, she never lost her faith, praise or love for God; she remained faithful all the way to the beginning of her eternal life.
Marilyn was born Oct. 25, 1957, in Anna, Illinois, to Wilbur and Ruth Emery. She married the Rev. Gregory W. Randol on April 6, 1979.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years and children, Alicia (the Rev. Steven) Brown and the Rev. Joshua (Gina) Randol. She was the loved Lottie to her grandchildren, Shaelin (Calvin-Collin) Wolfe, Emery Brown, Madilyn Brown, Riley Brown, Briceston (Mary) Randol, Eli Randol, Harrison Randol and Sebastian Randol; and great-grandchildren, Divinity Randol and Tatum Wolfe. Other survivors are a sister, Karen (Jim) Vaughn; brother-in-law, Bill Smith; brother/sisters-in-law, Clark and Vicki Daniels, the Rev. Gary and Cindy Teague, Nancy Randol and the Rev. Gary and Mindy Randol; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; as well as many friends from across the country.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Dennis Emery; sister, Janice Smith; in-laws, the Rev. Doyle W. Randol and Alma L. Randol; brother-in-law, Terry Randol; and nephew, Derick Teague.
The family wishes to give its special thanks to the staff of Cox Medical Center South CCU, Cardiac Unit and Pastoral Care, as well as Pastor Brian McCoy and Harvest Ministries in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 24, followed by a celebration of life, at New Life Church, 2450 U.S. Highway 190 West in Jasper, Texas. The Revs. Darwin Burks and Michael Orange will officiate. In addition, a visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, June 26, followed by a celebration of life, at Dongola Pentecostal Church, 440 N.E. Front St. in Dongola, Illinois, with the Revs. Dave Stovall and Greg Morrison officiating. Her final resting place will be at Camp Ground Cemetery, 275 Camp Ground Road in Anna, right across the lane from where her life began.
