Marilyn Kiefner

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marilyn S. Kiefner, 80, of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Perryville, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at The Haven in Pineville, North Carolina.

She was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Dothan, Alabama, daughter of Earle and Helen Dowling Stapleton. She and retired Lt. Gen. Charles M. Kiefner were married June 26, 1952. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 2007.

Marilyn was a beloved wife and mother. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Perryville.

Survivors include two sons, John (Tina) Kiefner of Chicago and Keith (Sydney) Kiefner of Charlotte; a twin brother and sister, S.E. "Buddy" (Joyce) Stapleton and Helen S. Harrell, both of Dothan; and three grandchildren, Whitney, Victoria and Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at First Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Nancy Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.

Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are preferred for First Presbyterian Church or Alzheimer's research.
