Marilyn Jo Dodd, 62, of Scott City went to her heavenly home Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, with her family by her side.

She was born Sept. 14, 1956, in Cape Girardeau to Elroy Delbert and Erna Jean Grey Mueller. She married Edward Lee Dodd Sr. on March 8, 1971, in Cape Girardeau.

She worked as a machine operator at Thorngate. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved her family and spending time with her children and her grandchildren brought her the most joy.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Dodd; two sons, Lee (Christina) Dodd of Benton, Missouri, and Casey (Heather) Dodd of Jackson; a daughter, Christy (Shawn) Griffin of South Haven, Mississippi; three brothers, Delbert Mueller of Jackson, David Mueller of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Marty Mueller of Kelso, Missouri; two sisters, Gladys Retherford of Cape Girardeau and Carolyn Kissiar of Elco, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, Chad (Beth), Ashley, Haley, Ry, Alexis, Skyler, Zach, Hayden, Khloe and Kolton; two great-grandchildren, Drake and Tatum; and her special dog, Bambi.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. David McNeely and Robert Smithey officiating. Burial will be at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure, Illinois

Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
