Marilyn Lee Chapman, 88, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, at her home.
She was born July 5, 1926, in Middletown, Indiana, to the late Edward and Golda Caroline Kelley Neighbours. She and James Lloyd Chapman were married Oct. 9, 1946, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1996.
Marilyn worked at Southern Bell as a telephone operator and was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of Saint Francis Auxiliary, Saint Francis Volunteer, FISH volunteer and volunteer at Keys Eye Care.
Survivors include a daughter, Cara (Mark) Sprigg of Kelso, Missouri; a grandson, Brian (Tabitha) Thompson of Sikeston, Missouri; and two great-granddaughters, Chloe and Sophie Thompson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Saint Francis Auxiliary, Saint Francis Memorial Scholarship Fund or Saint Francis Employee Care Fund.
