Marilyn Joy Blankenship, 83, of Burfordville gained her angel wings on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 9, 1933, in Cape Girardeau to Robert and Vivian Cole Dockery.
She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1951.
She and John C. Blankenship were married April 5, 1953, in Cape Girardeau.
Marilyn was co-owner and bookkeeper at Blankenship Sinclair Service Station in Cape Girardeau.
She attended Cape County Cowboy Church. She was active in the Missouri State Championship Walking Horse and Racking Horse Association.
Survivors include her husband, John C. Blankenship of Burfordville; two daughters, Debbie (Neil) Petty of Whitewater and Pam (Robert) Adams of Jackson; two sons, Rick (Chris) Blankenship of Grassy, Missouri, and Brian (Laura) Blankenship of Jackson; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating.
Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lodge in St. Louis or Cape County Cowboy Church.
