SIKESTON -- Marillian Adcock Stafford, 87, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
She was born Sept. 4, 1911, at Portageville, the daughter of John Anderson and Fannie Elizabeth Harrelson Adcock Sr. She and Chester Lee Stafford were married Feb. 11, 1933, at Portageville. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1964.
She formerly worked in the dietary department at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She also worked as a foster grandmother at the Sikeston public school kindergarten.
She was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Bixler of Sikeston; three brothers, James Adcock of Norwalk, Ohio, William H. Adcock of Sikeston, and John Adcock Jr. of Iuka, Ill.; a sister, Beatrice Stanfield of Kennett; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston. Dr. Gilbert W. Stafford will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Kelley Grubbs. Burial will be in the Portageville Cemetery.
