DEXTER -- Marie White, 89, of Dexter died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, at her home.
She was born Dec. 18, 1908, at Leora, daughter of Daniel Louis and Laura Lewis Clodfelter. She and William E. Bill White were married Sept. 9, 1927, at Bloomfield. He died Dec. 13, 1978.
She was a homemaker and a member of Brown General Baptist Church at Puxico.
Survivors include a son, John Bill White of Advance; four daughters, Laura Mize of New Melle, Mary Hopkins of Cape Girardeau, Carol White of St. Charles, Nancy Shock of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Barry Matthews, Brett Matthews, Jennifer Pape, Shelley White, Mindy Moats and Beth Shock; four great-grandchildren, Grant Matthews, Elizabeth Matthews, Joe Matthews and Andy Moats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Asa Clodfelter, Howard Clodfelter, Dwight Clodfelter; three sisters, Lotta Gillespie, Edna Gillespie and Nora Wilson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 25, 1998, at Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter. The Rev. Ray Placher will officiate, with burial in Zion Cemetery near Bloomfield.
