CHARLESTON -- Marie Victory, 68, of Charleston died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at Charleston Manor.
She was born Dec. 11, 1928, in Clarksdale, Miss., daughter of Ealin and Nelia Mose Wilkins.
Victory was a cook at Charleston Manor 30 years, retiring Aug. 7, 1996. She was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church and its Senior Choir, and served on the Usher Board.
Survivors include five sons, Phavernon Wilkins, Michael and Virgil Victory of Charleston, Anthony Victory and Glen Wilkins of Chicago; four daughters, Gerelene Hale, Jean, Carol and Rose Victory of Chicago; two brothers, Ealin Wilkins of Lexington, Md., John Wilkins of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Edna Taylor of St. Louis, Ida Collins of Clarksdale; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday at Mercy Seat Church, with the Rev. J.L. Posey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
