MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Marie Van de Ven, 88, of Leopold, Mo., died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 18, 1915, at Lutesville, Mo., daughter of Joseph and Anne L. Thele Seiler. She and Bernard H. Van de Ven were married April 22, 1936. He died Jan. 29, 1990.
Van de Ven was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality and the Legion of Mary Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Melvin Van de Ven of Cape Girardeau, Gerald Van de Ven of St. Louis and Roy Van de Ven of Leopold; three daughters, Loretta Vandeven of Cape Girardeau, Mary Creed of St. Charles, Mo., and Margie Bucher of Kelso, Mo.; a sister, Margaret Delia of Hazelwood, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two twin infant daughters, six brothers, seven sisters and a granddaughter.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Parish prayers and K.C. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold. The Rev. Bill Huggins will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
