SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. — Marie L. Tuschhoff, 78, of Sedgewickville passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Sedgewickville to Edgar “E.H.” and Reva E. Statler Bangert. She and Harlan Tuschhoff were married June 16, 1985, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
Marie was raised in Sedgewickville. She was a graduate of the former Patton (Missouri) High School and also attended the former business school in Cape Girardeau. She worked at the former shoe factory in Perryville, Missouri, and 35 years as a cashier in the bursar’s office at Southeast Missouri State University.
She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. She especially enjoyed crocheting and playing pinochle.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Harlan Tuschhoff of Sedgewickville; two brothers-in-law, Don (the late Linda) Meloy of Farmington, Missouri, and Harold (Kay) Tuschhoff of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Helenmarie (the late Elmer) Koenig of Jackson; four nephews, Brian (Melissa) Meloy and Matthew Meloy of Centerville, Missouri, and Dan (Kathy) Tuschhoff and Tim (Bev) Tuschhoff of Jackson; two nieces, Cheryl (Mark) Renne of Foristell, Missouri, and Donna Tuschhoff of Eureka, Missouri; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and two great-great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Linda Meloy; and a brother-in-law, Hilbert (Aileen) Tuschhoff.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 10 a.m. until time of service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Fund, Whitewater Presbyterian Church, or the donor’s choice of church or charity.
