JACKSON, Mo. -- Marie Sappington passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Raymond V. Epps will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Mrs. Sappington was born in Rector, Ark., daughter of Verdo and Edith Wagner Rodery. She and Henry Sappington were married June 14, 1948. He passed away May 15, 1998.
Loving survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sue Sappington and Don and Julie Sappington, all of Jackson; five grandchildren, Scott, Lisa and Renee Sappington, and Christy and Amy Sappington, all of Jackson; four sisters, Virginia Jackson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Viola Cooper of Boynton Beach, Fla., Veda Hall of Oakland, Calif., and Earline Romine of Campbell, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Mr. and Mrs. Sappington moved to Jackson in 1955 from Poplar Bluff, Mo., and founded H&S Equipment Co. They were co-owners and managers of the company from 1955-93. During those years H&S Equipment became an honored XL Dealership with International-Harvester.
Mrs. Sappington was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.
