JACKSON -- Marie Ruester, 66, of Jackson passed away at her home Sunday, April 30, 2000.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Dr. Brian Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruester was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Jackson, daughter of the late Clarence and Noma Crites Allen. She and John Ruester were married Feb. 14, 1970.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Vern Turner of Farmington, Gary Turner of Jackson; a daughter, Susan White of O'Fallon; two stepdaughters, Valarie Kursar of Jackson, Miss., Diana Lasky of Corydon, Ind.; five grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, Martin Allen of Sikeston, Roy Allen of Sedgewickville, David and Tom Allen of Jackson; four sisters, Elouise Forrest of St. Louis, Helen Cook of Sedgewickville, Marilyn Mayfield of Jackson, and Debbie Freund of Jackson.
Marie worked at Southwestern Bell 25 years, retiring in 1985. Since then she enjoyed working part time at Hobby Lobby and in flower gardening.
She was a member of Thursday Study Club, Suburban Garden Club, and an active member of First Baptist Church, all in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Cancer Center at Southeast Missouri Hospital, or First Baptist Church in Jackson.
