Marie Iva Jewel Mirgaux, 85, of Scott City died peacefully at her home Saturday, April 10, 2010, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born April 17, 1924, in Illmo, Mo., to Albert August and Carolina Rosena Rubel. She married Lawrence Lewis "Lonnie" Mirgaux, the love of her life, in Scott City on Dec. 27, 1942. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1986...

Marie Iva Jewel Mirgaux, 85, of Scott City died peacefully at her home Saturday, April 10, 2010, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was born April 17, 1924, in Illmo, Mo., to Albert August and Carolina Rosena Rubel. She married Lawrence Lewis "Lonnie" Mirgaux, the love of her life, in Scott City on Dec. 27, 1942. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1986.

She was famous for her cream pies she made for family and friends. She also enjoyed relaxing on her porch and waving to friends.

Survivors include her three children, Sue (Paul) Bollinger of Jackson, Lawrence (Cheri) Mirgaux of Gilbertsville, Ky., and Margaret (Allen) Pender of Scott City. Marie was blessed with four grandchildren, Chris Bollinger of Jackson, Tina (Cory) Heisserer, Britt (Sara) Mirgaux, both of Kelso, and Lonnie Pender of Scott City, who also survive her. Additional survivors include six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Bollinger of Jackson, McKenna, Miranda, and Margaux Heisserer of Kelso, Julia and Katherine Mirgaux of Kelso; five nieces and nephews, Herb Holder, Jim Menees, Melvin Gulley, Olga Lance and Delores Stull.

Visitation will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Scott City.
