MARIE M. SCHMIDT

PERRYVILLE -- Funeral mass for Marie M. Schmidt of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate, with burial in Schlueter Cemetery in Antonia.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 6:30-9:45 a.m.

Schmidt, 83, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 1994, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 24, 1911, at Equality, daughter of James B. and Christine Unfried Caffrey. She and Henry Schmidt were married July 13, 1957. He died Oct. 7, 1981.

Schmidt was retired from Rozier's Mercantile. She was a member of St. Vincent's Church, American Legion Auxiliary to Post 133, and VFW Auxiliary to Post 5282.

Survivors include three sisters, Catherine Papin of Ste. Genevieve, Mildred Dallas and Rose Gum of Granite City, Ill., and a brother, Damian "Bud" Caffrey of Granite City.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
