Mrs. Marie Lucille Hobbs, age 76, of Cape Girardeau passed away at the Lutheran Home on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998.
She was born March 10, 1922 in Vanduser, Mo., the daughter of Charles Cleveland and Ella Mae (Lampkins) Cronenbold.
She married John Childers in 1938 and he died in 1969.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Chuck and Shirley Childers of Thebes, Ill.; two sisters, Ruby Niswonger of Cape Girardeau and Farrell Lufcy Craig of Benton, Mo.; and one brother Joe Cronenbold Entwisle of Brookfield, Mo.; two granddaughters Dianne Prater of McClure, Ill., and Cheryl Childers of Cape Girardeau, and one great granddaughter, Kaley Childers of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
During her working career Mrs. Hobbs worked at the former 7-Up Bottling in Cape Girardeau for 14 years, Ralph Edwards Sportswear for five years and for the Lutheran Home for a brief period.
She resided at 236 Capaha Trail for 38 years but for the past 20 months at the Lutheran Home of Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery. Memorials may be given to fund of your choice.
