Marie Hibbing

BENTON, Mo. — Marie Elizabeth Hibbing, 86, of Riverside, Calif., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009.

She was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Kelso, Mo., daughter of George and Helen Hamm Ziegler. She and Milton Hibbing were married Sept. 11, 1955, in Benton. After their marriage the couple moved to California.

Prior to her marriage she owned and operated Marie's Photo Studio in Benton.

Marie leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Stephen and Mark Hibbing of California; two daughters, Helen Hibbing and Yvonne Hibbing of California; a brother, Paul Ziegler of Benton, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Marie enjoyed music and dance and was active in the American Slovenian Polka Foundation and Cow Town Square Dance Club. She was a member of California Rare Fruit Growers, Gates Cactus and Succulent Society and other garden clubs.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Oliver Clavin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
