MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Marie Davis, 96, of Mound City, Ill., died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1993, in Mound City, Ill.

She was born March 5, 1897, at Cairo, Ill., daughter of Zachariah and Charlotte Walker Watts.

She married William F. Davis; he preceded her in death.

Davis was a retired sales clerk of the former J.J. Blum Store and P.N. Hirsch & Co., in Cairo, Ill.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mound City, Ill., and a charter member of the United Methodist Women and Daughters of Ruth Sunday school class.

She was also a member of the Mound City Womens Club, the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Survivors include a daughter, Camille D. Marien of Champaign, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City, Ill. There will also be visitation at the First United Methodist Church in Mound City, Ill., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to the time of the funeral.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the First United Methodist Church in Mound City, Ill., with the Rev. Jerry Herring and the Rev. Jesse Bellamy officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn memorial Gardens Cemetery at Villa Ridge, Ill.
