TAMMS, Ill. -- Marie Cox, 83, of Villa Grove died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at Douglas Manor Nursing Home in Tuscola. She was born June 27, 1914, in McClure, daughter of Benjamin H. and Ada Grace Cook Woodard. She and Lloyd D. Cox were married July 11, 1930. He died Dec. 3, 1981...

TAMMS, Ill. -- Marie Cox, 83, of Villa Grove died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at Douglas Manor Nursing Home in Tuscola.

She was born June 27, 1914, in McClure, daughter of Benjamin H. and Ada Grace Cook Woodard. She and Lloyd D. Cox were married July 11, 1930. He died Dec. 3, 1981.

Cox had served as secretary/treasurer of Phillips Cemetery near McClure. Formerly of Tamms, she was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, James Cox of St. Louis, Donnie Cox of Durand; two daughters, Earlene Larson of Rockford, Debbie Shepard of Villa Grove; a sister, Geraldine Cundiff of McClure; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, and until service time Friday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.
