MARIE CALHOUN

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Marie A. Calhoun, 92, of Dongola died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at City Care Center in Cobden.

She was born May 17, 1907, in Williamson County, daughter of John Wesley and Mary Alice Rushing Armstrong. She and Truman Calhoun were married Jan. 1, 1928. He died July 3, 1988.

Calhoun was retired from First State Bank of Dongola. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Dongola.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, including Jeanne and Ernest Reynolds and Tommy Armstrong of Carterville, Dr. Robert Armstrong of Memphis, Tenn., Charles Reynolds of Decatur, Dorothy Barter, Betty Montgomery and Barbara Ollis of Marion.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Marlin Otte officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
