Marie Brown, 91, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at her home. She was born Nov. 6, 1911, in Tamms, Ill., daughter of John L. and Dora Hardy Crider. She and Lowell H. Brown were married Sept. 7, 1933, in Cairo, Ill. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1963...

Marie Brown, 91, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at her home.

She was born Nov. 6, 1911, in Tamms, Ill., daughter of John L. and Dora Hardy Crider. She and Lowell H. Brown were married Sept. 7, 1933, in Cairo, Ill. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1963.

Mrs. Brown lived in Carbondale, Ill., from 1941 to 1957. She was employed at Tots and Teens Shop. She and her husband moved to Cape Girardeau in 1957. She worked at the Brokerage Store in downtown Cape as a clerk from 1964 until it was sold to P.N. Hirsch Co. Then she worked at the P.N. Hirsch Town Plaza Store until her retirement in 1973.

She was of Baptist belief and attended First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Campbell of Jackson; a grandson, Kevin Campbell of Jackson; a great-grandson, Ryan Campbell of Scott City; a great-granddaughter, Sunni Campbell of Jackson; two sisters, Genevieve Hendrick of Ullin, Ill., and Jean Lingle of Tamms.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Sam Ramdial, pastor of First General Baptist Church, will conduct the service. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the Family Life Center, in care of First General Baptist Church.
