MARIE BENSON

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Cape Girardeau resident Marie Benson, 79, of 1105 Linden, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 1991, at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 19, 1911 at Illmo to Frank and Martha Rush Mason and had lived in Cape Girardeau six years.

For most of her life Benson lived in Cairo, Ill. She worked as a cook at St. Mary's Hospital and the Tuberculosis Hospital, both in Cairo, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, Billy Joe Benson of Harker Heights, Texas; a daughter, Gloria Sides of Cape Girardeau; and a grandson, Kenneth Moore of Mounds, Ill.. Also surviving are five other grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A son and grandson preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Ford & Sons Funeral Homes, Mount Auburn chapel. The Rev. S.S. Borum will officiate.

Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
