PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marie Frances Baer of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Old Appleton, entered her heavenly home Aug. 30, 2010, in Huntsville where she has lived for the past 13 years. She was 99. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Marie Frances Baer of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Old Appleton, entered her heavenly home Aug. 30, 2010, in Huntsville where she has lived for the past 13 years. She was 99.

She was born Feb. 2, 1911, in Old Appleton, daughter of Joseph William and Anna Theresa Schott Buchheit.

She and Edgar Lewis Baer were married Oct. 4, 1941. He preceded her in death April 29, 1973.

Mrs. Baer was a homemaker. She was a former member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Marie was the last surviving member of the family of 15.

Survivors include a son, Charles (Theresa) Edward Baer of St. Louis; and a daughter, Mary Ann (Chuck) Shockley of Huntsville; four grandsons, Charles (Robin) and Christopher (Karen) Baer of St. Louis, Steven (Janel) Gualdoni of Millstadt, Ill., and Scott (Krishna) Gualdoni of Palo Alto, Calif.; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

She will then be taken to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek for a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Tony Dattilo officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's Association.
