Marie B. Clinton, 80, 1904 Brink, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 1995, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Jan. 4, 1915, in New Hamburg, daughter of Theon and Ida Menz Grojean. She and Gilbert N. Clinton were married June 9, 1935, in Sikeston.
While at Sikeston she was cafeteria director at St. Francis Xavier Elementary School, later was office manager at Midtown Motel, and a member of the Altar Society.
She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1989. She was a member of St. Francis Auxiliary and Volunteers, St. Mary's Cathedral and its Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Roy Clinton of West Monroe, La.; two daughters, Barbara Lohr of Jackson, Bonita Eaglin of Morehead, Ky.; three brothers, Charles Grojean of New Hamburg, Theon Grojean of Sikeston, Francis Grojean of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Rose Heisserer and Corona "Topsy" Kelpe of Cape Girardeau, Sybilla Cresap of Advance, Rita Staebel of Kelso; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
