Marguerite E. Stone, 72, of Springfield, Mo., died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Dec. 21, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Louis and Ella Haertling Graden. She and James "Jim" Stone were married Dec. 31, 1953, in Cape Girardeau.
Stone grew up in Cape Girardeau, graduated from College High School in 1949 and attended Evangelical United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark Stone and Michael Stone, both of Springfield; a daughter, Denise Ashley of Rogersville, Mo.; a brother, Victor Graden of Bettendorf, Iowa; five sisters, Edna Steimle and Ruby Doughty, both of Cape Girardeau, Helen Strack of San Diego, Calif., Ruth Daume of Perryville, Mo., Esther Morie of Scott City; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
A graveside service was held Thursday at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
