Marguerite H. Nigra, 95, of Jackson died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Jackson Manor.
She was born July 6, 1911, in Herrin, Ill., the daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth Turnbull Mortimer. She and James P. Nigra were married Dec. 7, 1932, in Marion, Ill.
Nigra was a member of Jackson Church of Christ. She volunteered at the food pantry, taught Sunday school several years at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and worked at election polling stations in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Davidson of Jackson; four grandchildren, Curt Davidson of Jackson, Connie Hudson of St. Charles, Mo., Terry Jones of Jackson, Jeff Davidson of Jackson; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home Saturday from 10 a.m. to service time.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home. The Revs. David Bragg and Brian McCallister will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
