Marguerite Hartsock

Marguerite E. Hartsock, 91, of Riverside, Calif., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at Palm Terrace Care Center in Riverside, Calif.

She was born Sept. 2, 1915, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Garrett Clinton and Mona Virgie Henderson Childs. She and Leslie Earl Hartsock were married Sept. 4, 1938, in Cape Girar-deau. He died Feb. 4, 1995.

Hartsock had been a secretary in the banking industry.

Survivors include a sister, Bettie Hinman of El Cajon, Calif.; two brothers, James Childs of Fairfield, Calif., and Howard Childs of Chicago.

A service and entombment was held Aug. 8 at Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin, Ill., with Dr. John Lewis officiating.

Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.
