Margot Holmes

MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Margot Eby Holmes, 69, of Matthews died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at her home.

She was born May 4, 1935, in Bunceton, Mo., daughter of John H. and Alice Rachel Engle. She and Charles Eby were married in 1955. He died Aug. 8, 1984. She and Jim Holmes were married July 4, 1992.

Holmes was a home economics teacher at Clarkton High School, retiring in 1998. She was a member of First Christian Church and Christian Women's Fellowship.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Larry Eby of Sikeston, Mo.; three daughters, Judy Turner of Mesa, Ariz., Debbie Carlisle of Risco, Mo., Karen Eby of Chicago; a brother, John Engle of Clinton, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.

Friends may call at First Christian Church from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Eddie Wells will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
