Margie L. Vinyard, 81, formerly of Jackson, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at Auburn Creek Assisted Living in Cape Girardeau.
Margie was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Cape Girardeau to George and Bernice Unnerstall Reisenbichler. She and George B. "Bradley" Vinyard were married Feb. 9, 1958. They had been married 12 years when Bradley passed away Sept. 7, 1970.
Margie was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She retired from Saint Francis Medical Center after working in the lab many years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Angie (Keith) Holt of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Amanda (Gabe) Wunderlich of Cape Girardeau and Bryant Holt of Jackson; two great-grandchildren, Livia and Lolah Wunderlich; three sisters, Betty Fluegge and Mary Pat Dunham of Cape Girardeau, and Jean (John) Hewitt of Houston; and a brother-in-law, Jim (Lillian) Vinyard of Freeburg, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George W. and Hester Vinyard; and a brother-in-law, Robert Gene "Bob" Vinyard.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father John Harth officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immaculate Conception Catholic School or Immaculate Conception Parish.
