CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Margie Ruth Stricklin, 80, of Chaffee passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at her daughter's home in Chaffee.
She was born August 3, 1941, in Dudley, Missouri, to John and Alice Sanders. She and William "Lum" Leon Stricklin were married on June 28, 1971. He preceded her in death.
Margie was a homemaker and mother to six children. She also worked many years at Carr Textiles in Chaffee and Venture Products in Oran, Missouri.
She enjoyed reading and watching true crime shows, and she loved seeing or talking with her family and friends. She loved to dance and her favorite song to dance to was "Wooly Bully." Her sense of humor was phenomenal. She also had her own sayings, made-up words and songs. Some were sweet, and others were hilarious.
Margie cared for others above herself and made sure everyone's needs came before hers. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her knew she was one of a kind and loved her dearly. Margie will be deeply missed by so many.
Survivors include her children, Theresa (Michael) Powell of Jefferson City, Missouri; Gary (Darlene) Kelley of Delta; Becky (Gary) Crowden of Hallsville, Missouri; Lori (Bruce) Reid of Chaffee; and Lisa (Todd) Shelton of Hutchinson, Kansas; siblings, Peggy Lee of Chaffee; Fay (Johny) Lee of Rogersville, Missouri; Kay Scheper of Benton, Missouri; and Richard (Judy) Sanders of Oak Ridge; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Jerry Sanders; son, Robert Kelley; and grandchildren, Brandy Keller and Cody Kelley.
