Margaret Rose "Margie" Farrar, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born Dec. 2, 1943, in Cape Girardeau to Percy William and Bertha Schonhoff Farrar.
She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School.
Margie was a secretary for Farrar Farms Dairy and served as a volunteer at Saint Francis Medical Center many years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Ann's Sodality, Legion of Mary and Victorious Missionaries of Our Lady of Snows in Belleville, Illinois. She formerly served as president of "GIMP" -- Greater Illinois Missouri Paraplegics -- and was a 4-H member and leader 20 years.
She was a devoted community leader and was very proud of all of her nieces and nephews and the Farrar name.
Survivors include a sister, Geraldine Stone of Cape Girardeau, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Gene, Paul, Glenn and Arthur Farrar; and a sister, Dorothy Hulsey.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., with parish prayers at 6 p.m., Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's Cathedral or Saint Francis Medical Center Auxiliary.
