Margaret A. "Peggy" Winkler, 94, of Jackson passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born June 29, 1918, in Beatrice, Neb., daughter of Roy M. and Jeanette B. Hollis Kave. She and William George were married and had their four children before his passing. She later married Joseph Stoverink and Anton "Tony" Winkler; both preceded her in death.
Peggy was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson. She enjoyed basketball, especially watching her granddaughters play, and enjoyed spending time with family.
Loving survivors include two daughters, Kim (Bill) Horner and Linda (Gary) Littlepage of Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Teresa George of Altenburg, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Norleen) Sharp of Columbia, Mo., James Langston of Jackson, Ronald Langston of Little Rock, Ark., William (Sandra) Horner of Dallas, Texas, Brad (Gina) Horner of St. Louis, Dana (Matthew) Schonhoff of Sikeston, Mo., Loni Littlepage of College Station, Texas; a stepson, Jerry (Mary) Winkler of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Betty (Louis) Merritt of Woodland Hills, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steve S. George, and an infant son, Donald R. George.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Parish prayers will be at 5.
Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
