Margaret Whitener, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1923, in Missouri, daughter of Fitz Whitener and Lillian Chloe Treece.
She graduated from high school at Blytheville, Ark., and served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include five cousins, Bernice Mannes and Donald Funderburk of Hattiesburg, Miss., Ruth A. Mannes of Sumrall, Miss., Reginald Funderburk of Sun City, Calif. and Carlton Funderburk of Victorville, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Fred Willard Carlock.
There will be no visitation and no funeral. Burial will be in Cape Girardeau County Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
