Margaret Thorne

Margaret A. Thorne, 63, of Jackson, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 7, 1939, in Delta, daughter of Robert L. and Orpha Dysinger Brown. She and Jerry Lee Thorne were married Oct. 29, 1956. He died Aug. 12, 1994.

She drove a paper route for the Southeast Missourian a number of years, and then worked at Magnetic Collectibles in Cape Girardeau. She was a former longtime resident of Millersville.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Thorne of St. Louis and Steven Thorne of Hudson, Fla.; two daughters, Yvonne Howard of the state of Florida and Chris Hardy of Jackson; five brothers, Robert Brown Jr. of Jackson, Ernest Brown and Frank Brown, both of Delta, Danny Brown of Scott City and David Brown of Springfield, Mo.; five sisters, Wanda Alvey of the state of Illinois, Phyllis Reigert and Donna McClard, both of Delta, Cathy Mouser of St. Louis and Linda Allmon of Jackson; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Morgan Cemetery in Advance, Mo.
