Margaret Ruth "Hope" Shrum, 58, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at her home.
She was born July 8, 1941, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Oliver A. and Bernice Mosley Hope. She and Samuel D. Shrum were married Oct. 15, 1966, at Cape Girardeau.
She worked as deputy assessor for the Cape Girardeau County Assessor's office for 20 years. She was also a graduate of Cape Central High School.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Joseph B. Shrum of Jackson; a daughter, Linda R. Shrum of St. Louis; a brother, Daniel Howard Hope of Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Mary Hope Moore of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
Funeral will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Clayton Smith officiating.
A private burial will follow at a later date.
