CAIRO, Ill. -- Graveside service for Margaret R. Shoemaker of Wellington, Fla., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds. The Rev. Kelly Cox will officiate.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Shoemaker, 94, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, at Beverly Health Center in Royal Palm Beach, Fla.
She was born Aug. 8, 1904, in Joppa, daughter of Robert and Hallie Hutchinson Hatcher.
Shoemaker was comptroller and treasurer for city of Cairo 25 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and its Junior Circle, Cairo Women's Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She had been organist and choir director at the church before moving to Florida.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Potts of Wellington; and a granddaughter.
