MARGARET SHIPMAN

SCOTT CITY -- Margaret Alice Shipman, 90, of Scott City, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 20, 1908, at Malden, daughter of Benjamin and Gertrude Decker Hill.

On Dec. 31, 1941, she married L.H. Shipman in Cape Girardeau. He died Feb. 17, 1995.

She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Cape Girardeau and was a member of St. Mark's Chapter 167 of the Eastern Star of Cape Girardeau.

She had attended Boston University for a year and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. She was a teacher at Benton, Hayti, Jackson and Scott City schools, retiring in 1969.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
