ADVANCE, Mo. — Margaret “Maggie” Shelby of Advance, daughter of the late John P. and Minnie Louise Johansmeier, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. ADVANCE, Mo. — Margaret “Maggie” Shelby of Advance, daughter of the late John P. and Minnie Louise Johansmeier, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Maggie enjoyed helping with delivering food and working in the nutrition center. She was a member of Puxico First Baptist Church in Puxico Missouri.

Maggie married Norman Leroy Shelby on Aug. 30, 2003, in Eldon, Iowa.

Surviving are her husband, Norman Shelby of the home; two sons and spouse Michael Conger of Hedrick, Iowa, and Donald (Marla) Conger of Muscatine, Iowa; two daughters and spouses, Phyllis (Donald) Turner of Tuscumbia, Missouri, and Theresa (Kirby) Vorhise of Santa Marie, California; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers and spouses Charles (Betty) Jeffery of Des Moines, Iowa, Jerry Jeffery of Eldon and Ronald Jeffery of Belton, Missouri; and eight sisters and spouses, Joann (Arlen) Chambers of Des Moines, Ruth (Dewayne) Rogers of Davenport, Iowa, Donna (Bill) Hulbert of Eldon, Arlene (Jim) Kilbow of Eldon, Carol Ann (Joe) Turner of Davenport, Linda Kay Coon of Davenport and Debera Murphy of Eldon. Other family and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marilyn Carter, Donna Hulbert and Rhonda Jeffery; and one son.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri, officiating. Interment will be in Puxico Cemetery in Puxico, Missouri, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Family requests attendees wear a mask for visitation and service.
