Margaret Proctor

BENTON -- Margaret Lucille Proctor, 70, Benton Route 1, died Monday, July 14, 1997, at her home.

She was born Sept. 28, 1926, at Charleston, daughter of Clement Odine and Emma Martha Gibbear Scheffer. She and Roy C. Proctor were married Feb. 7, 1948, at Charleston. He died June 29, 1994.

Proctor was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and its St. Ann's Sodality.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Proctor Jr. and Dwayne Proctor of Benton; two daughters, Sharon LeGrand of Scott City, Lucretia Dakin of Kelso; two brothers, Joseph Scheffer of Ellis Grove, Ill., Clem Scheffer of Sikeston; three sisters, Pauline Scheffer and Frances Slayden of Charleston, Christina Senciboy of Perkins; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Denis Church, with the Rev. James Seyer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
