Margaret Ann Mayfield, 79, of Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at Monticello House.
She was born June 14, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Edgar and Cecil Helton Clippard. She and Clarence A. Mayfield were married April 2, 1977, in Jackson.
Margaret and Clarence resided in Cape Girardeau 30 years before entering Monticello House in September 2011.
She held her family dear to her heart and was a devoted wife, mother and friend.
Loving survivors include her husband; a son, Ray (Lola) Bowen of Blytheville, Ark.; two daughters, Cathy (Jack) Connell of Cape Girardeau, Barbara (Bill) Kempen of St. Roberts, Mo.; two stepsons, Greg (Mary Ann) Mayfield and Jeff Mayfield of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Carla (Kurt) Lafaire of Marble Hill, Mo., Karen Wachter of Bloomfield, Mo.; two sisters, Ruth Ann Turner of Alaska, Shirley Clippard of Jackson; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Dale Clippard, in whose honor the Lloyd Dale Clippard VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau was named.
Friends may call from noon until service time Thursday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Zack Strong officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Southeast Missouri Food Bank.
