MARGARET LEWIS

MATTHEWS -- Funeral service for Margaret Elizabeth Lewis of Broken Arrow, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Shawn Thomas will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Lewis, 72, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at Broken Arrow Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1925, in New Madrid County, daughter of Walter L. and Myra Jones Harvey. She and Sam T. Lewis were married July 12, 1945. He died April 16, 1979.

Lewis moved to Broken Arrow in 1996 from Matthews. She was a member of Living Oaks Baptist Church in Tulsa, Okla.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Lewis of Broken Arrow; four daughters, Betty Johnson of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Reita Los of Fayetteville, N.C., Catherine Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla., Jodi Lewis of Marseilles, Ill.; a brother, William Harvey of Kokomo, Ind.; four sisters, Josephine Huffman, Margie Dodd and Mary Anderson, all of Kokomo, Marie Bailey of Kempton, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons and two daughters.
