Margaret Jane Judge, 92, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Minneapolis to Leon and Ruby Orth. She married Dr. Walter Thomas Judge on Aug. 19, 1950, in Milbank, South Dakota. He preceded her in death March 10, 1994.
Margaret grew up in Milbank and graduated from Milbank High School in 1945. She graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 1950 as a registered nurse.
Margaret lived in Crystal City, Missouri, for 56 years, where she was a nurse in her husband's medical practice, raised their four children and was active in Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus, Missouri.
In 2016, she moved to Cape Girardeau to be closer to her daughter. She lived at Chateau Girardeau Retirement Center and was a member of Cathedral of St. Mary.
Surviving are three sons, Dr. Tim (Mary Jo) Judge of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tom Judge of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Dr. Steve (Sandra) Judge of Eureka, Missouri; daughter, Mary (Kirk) Buxton of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Judge of Denver, Dr. Daniel (Dr. Casey) Judge of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Matthew (Cailin) Judge of Vancouver, Washington, Caitlin (Josh) Knutson of Hastings, Nebraska, Patrick Judge of Pacific, Missouri, Greg Judge of St. Louis, Brendan Judge of Eureka and Dr. Kent Buxton of St. Louis; four great-grandchildren, Cate Horvath, Henry Judge, Margot Judge and Broin Knutson; and sister, Elizabeth (Neil) Elliott of Fort Collins, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.
Visitation will be held at noon Nov. 16 at Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus.
A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Our Lady Catholic Church in Festus or to the Cathedral of St. Mary in Cape Girardeau.
