Funeral for Margaret Ruth Hurley of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Dugan will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Hurley, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at her home.

She was born April 22, 1921, at Bell City, Mo., daughter of Clyde and Phoebe Oakley Cossou. She and Cody Hurley Sr. were married Oct. 4, 1941, at Benton, Mo. He died in 1999.

Hurley was a graduate of Bell City High School. She worked in food preparation many years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Cody Hurley of Grandview, Mo., Joe Hurley of Charlotte, N.C.; five daughters, Betty Moore of Cobden, Ill., Nancy Fulton and Sue Zan Houchins of Cape Girardeau, Mary Lively of Benton, Ark., Patricia Schmoker of Kennesaw, Ga.; a brother, R.C. Cossou of Gordonville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
