MARGARET COTTON

THEBES, Ill. -- Margaret E. Cotton, 89, of Thebes died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 4, 1911, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of James and Maude Brown Jones. She married Harold Cotton, who died in 1989.

Cotton was a registered nurse. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Ullin, Ill., Daughters of Isabella, and Illinois Nurses Association.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Teresa Jesenovec and Peggi Householder of Waukegan, Ill.; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and three sisters.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Msgr. Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery at Olive Branch, Ill.
