Margaret Bruenderman

CHARLESTON, Mo -- Margaret Marie Wallace Bruenderman, 86, a lifelong resident of Charleston, died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Charleston, to the late John Wallace and Laura Belle Forbey Wallace. Having lived in Charleston her entire life she was a 1939 graduate of Charleston High School, a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and former member of the Daughters of Isabella.

She was first employed at the Southwestern Bell Telephone office and then the Charleston Bakery where she worked until her retirement. She was a gentle lady who was dedicated to her family.

On Oct. 10, 1946, she married Robert Paul Bruenderman, who preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1996.

Surviving are four sons, Bernard "Bennie" Bruenderman, Thomas Bruenderman, and James Bruenderman, all of Charleston, Charles "Chuck" Bruenderman of Sikeston, Mo.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Joe Sevic and Laura Knoderer of Charleston, Paula and Victor McClung of Sikeston; eight grandchildren and two granddaughters-in-law, Andrew and Erica Sevic, Anna-Katherine Sevic, and John McClung, all of St. Louis, Laura McClung of Sikeston and her fiance, Donnie Landewee of Leopold, Mo.; Caroline McClung and Gabriel McClung of Sikeston; Matthew and Jennifer Knoderer of Cape Girardeau, and James Bruenderman of Charleston.

She was preceded in death by her firstborn son, Robert Paul Bruenderman; an infant daughter, Mary Ann Bruenderman; a brother, Charles Linn Wallace; two granddaughters, Rebecca Marie Sevic and Margaret Elizabeth McClung; and a granddaughter-in-law, Jill Marie Sevic.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Sevic, John McClung, James Bruenderman, Matthew Knoderer, Gabriel McClung and Donnie Landewee.
