DIEHLSTADT -- Margaret Lela Brothers, 68, of Diehlstadt died Friday, May 23, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 15, 1929, in Advance, daughter of Jasper U. and Alma Edith McClain Miller.
Brothers worked at Brown Shoe Co. in Charleston a number of years, then owned and operated Margaret's Mini Mart in Diehlstadt until retiring in 1986. She was a member of Diehlstadt General Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Terry Brothers of Morehouse; two daughters, Judy Canter and Carla Housman of Diehlstadt; three brothers, J.W. and Loy Miller of Diehlstadt, Carl Miller of Benton; two sisters, Delia Bryant of Diehlstadt, Carolyn Bellah of Sikeston; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Odle officiating. Burial will be in Maynard Cemetery.
