Margaret Begley

Margaret Louise "Maggie" Begley, 85, of Claremore, Okla., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Claremore Nursing Home.

She was born June 1, 1918, in Jackson. She and Raymond A. Begley Jr. were married June 7, 1941, in Pocahontas, Ark. He died Sept. 27, 1983.

Begley was a graduate of Jackson High School, where she was a majorette and drum major, and also a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.

She was formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo. She had been a bookkeeper at J.W. Githens Co., Blackwell-Baldwin Automobile Dealership, and Luecke Distributing Co., all in Poplar Bluff. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include a son, Terry Begley of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Tanya Greer of Claremore; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, with Dr. William Vail officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
