Margaret Barnes

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- The funeral for Margaret Jo Barnes of East Prairie will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Larry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.

Barnes, 69, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 24, 1933, near East Prairie, daughter of Luther and Edith Tanner Bailey. She married Billie N. Barnes.

Barnes lived in East Prairie most of her life. She worked at Prairie Manufacturing Co. several years, and was currently working in the cafeteria at East Prairie High School. She was a member of First Church of God.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Pam Russell of Sikeston, Mo., Linda Nicoson of Benton, Mo.; three sons, Ricky and Bruce Penrod of East Prairie, Danny Penrod of Sikeston; a brother, Clarence "Bo" Bailey of St. Louis; a sister, Rozella "Tooter" Kelley of Bloomfield, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
