Marcella S. Lawson, 83, of Orlando, Fla., died Thursday, July 23, 1992, at Regents Park Health Center in Winter Park, Fla.
She was born Jan. 26, 1909, at Malden, daughter of John M. and Mary Porterfield Stephens. She married Charlie Lawson Jan. 7, 1928, at Catron. He died March 24, 1962.
Lawson worked at International Shoe Co. 34 years, retiring in 1968. She lived in Cape Girardeau from 1945 until moving to Florida in 1976. She was a member of Orlando Baptist Church and its women's group. She was a former member of Faith Baptist Temple, where she had taught Sunday School and had been a member of the women's group.
Survivors include three daughters, Lorene Frey of Orlando, Ruth Blattel and Bonnie Poole of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, David Stephens of Florissant, Orbis Stephens of Wardell; two sisters, Florence Adams and Vivian Shipp of Morehouse; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, three brothers and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at the chapel at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. J.C. Mattox will officiate, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery near Zalma.
