ANNA, Ill. -- Marcella Dillow Claxton Cain, 81, of Anna died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Union County Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 2, 1921, in Centralia, Ill., daughter of Otis and Gertrude E. Bigler Dillow. She and Eugene Cain were married Aug. 4, 1954. He died Dec. 14, 1999.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna and the church's quilters guild. She was active in the Anna VFW ladies' auxiliary and the Illinois Veterans' Home, and retired as the activity therapy supervisor at Choate Mental Health Center in Anna.
Survivors include a son, Gary Claxton of Elgin, Ill.; a daughter, Therese Ferguson of St. Peters, Mo.; a brother, Harold Dillow of Anna; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, with a rosary service at 8 p.m.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Monsignor Tom Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Cobden, Ill.
