WILSON CITY -- Mamie Porter, 79, of Wilson City, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1993, at Charleston Manor. She was born April 20, 1914, in Gould, Ark., daughter of Joe and Celia Myers Reams. WILSON CITY -- Mamie Porter, 79, of Wilson City, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1993, at Charleston Manor.
She was born April 20, 1914, in Gould, Ark., daughter of Joe and Celia Myers Reams. She married Ollie Porter, who died in 1974.
Porter was a graduate of Madame C.J. Walker Beauty College in Kansas City. She was a member of Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Wyatt.

Survivors include two sisters, Pernella Williams of Wilson City, and Sadie Smith of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sparks Funeral Chapel. The Rev. T.R. Tyus will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday.
